About
Dr. Erica Hope, PhD
Licensed Psychologist, CAC II
EMDR Level II practitioner
When life becomes too stressful and overwhelming it can be difficult to find peace and happiness. We may find additional support is needed outside our ‘tribe’ to assist us in moving towards health and healing.
Sometimes we aren’t able to put our finger on what is going on for us, but know we don’t feel like ourselves. No matter the concern, if you are looking to make a change, heal, and embrace wellness, I would be honored to assist you along your journey.
I am a Licensed Psychologist, Certified Addictions Counselor II and EMDR Level II practitioner with over 15 years experience in the mental health field. I utilize an integrative, holistic, strengths and evidence based approach in my work as a therapist. It’s my goal to provide an authentic, safe, and collaborative environment in which my clients feel supported in their journey to growth and healing.
I frequently work with clients who are experiencing concerns around anxiety, depression, relationships, stress, grief and loss, trauma, divorce, disordered eating, transitions and sports and academic performance challenges. Additionally, I specialize in relationship concerns, grief and loss, trauma and women’s health including, but not limited to, HSP (highly sensitive person), disordered eating, body image and/or weight concerns, sexual concerns and dysfunction, headaches, insomnia, pain and IBS.
I believe in holistic healing and as such, will collaborate with other treatment practitioners you are working with and/or provide you with referrals as needed.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process and I encourage clients to be open, honest and authentic with me, meaning, if you have questions or concerns about our work or my style as a therapist, lets openly discuss your concerns so you get the most out of our work together.
Together, we will explore your beliefs, emotions, behaviors and ways of thinking, and move you towards healing, peace and improved overall well-being.
I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Colorado and I obtained my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and my Master’s Degree (MA) in Psychology with an emphasis in Psychological Sciences. I was born and raised in Northern California and completed my BA and MA degrees at CSU, Chico, CA before moving to Colorado in 2003.
I moved to the beautiful state of Colorado to be close to family, attend doctorate school and explore career opportunities and enjoy the abundance of activities that Colorado has to offer. Since graduating from graduate school I have worked in a number of different mental health environments including women’s health, a residential treatment center for adolescents, community mental health, a university counseling center, county health and social services, a psychological services clinic and of course private practice.
I am a HSP (highly sensitive person) and have found many blessings in this characteristic and believe this gift has assisted me in developing excellent therapeutic skills. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, playing in the sun on the lake, working out and loving on and playing with my fur babies.
